i am not lying when i said i have been eating for 4 days in a row.
laughs*
and cause i promised Kelvin a review on RIBS @ Oasis (despite the million people out there who has already reviewed it) , so here goes.
went to Ribs last Friday, not surprising that it's my 3rd/4th visit there to be exact but 1st time with family. mom was complaining that i never bring her go despite me endlessly talking bout a place that sells PORK RIBS to her face when she lurves pork ribs.
when Tony Roma's 1st step foot into malaysia, she was devastated to know that there wouldn't be any pork ribs available. ever since she tried them in the states, she has been looking fwd but only to disappointment that she can't get it here Laughs*
the place is pretty cozy for me, though it can get a lil noisy due to the fact that the place is pretty packed on weekend nights. there was one visit where there was this girl with her guitar (or was it her friend playing the guitar) singing. i kinda like it. her voice was nice and all, not to mention very young...15?. sad to say, not many people were listening and cause there wasn't actually proper set up as in music equipments (mike, speakers etc.) can't really hear her sing. thankfully i was sitting near then *laughs*
though buaya joey did not really agree to the concept cause the restaurant environment wasn't right to have her acoustic performance, thus not having 100% positive feedback. sad but i still enjoyed the music. would love to see her there again actually : )
please take notice that ms.bulat here has bad brain cells and did not keep the receipt for i never thought i would promise Kelvin for this review. so there would prolly be slight mistakes (cause i have to say what is the dish made of at least kan) in dish names and prices are unavailable Laughs* but everything is in my very honest, no lie opinion.
Mushroom Soup
prolly around rm8 per bowl.
i personally did not really like it. very mushy, slightly oatmeal-ish texture like. drank a few sips and passed the bowl to my mom who delightfully SCRAPED and LICKED the bowl cleaned. so did my younger brother. my mom absolutely loved it. she was saying how 'original' it tasted. hahaha i prefer mushroom soup where i can actually bite bits of mushroom.
not like campbell for goodness sake. i hate campbell.
Grilled Belly Oriental (i think)
this particular dish came, mom distributed small portions to everyone. i took the first bite and omg, the sauce was rich enough but over powering to kill the taste of the meat. i wanted another piece but the next thing i knew, the whole bone is on her plate and she's ready to pick it off the plate with her hands, eating it like some cannibal (haha sorry mom) it wasn't that bad as i described but that just shows how much she enjoyed it. i loved it too. heck, the whole table loves it-_- my brother and her said if they ever go back, this would be ordered for sure. even though they have tried it already.
two thumbs from them-_- Laughs*
Baby Back in BBQ Source
out of the 4 times i have been there, i have seen this dish on the table...4 times. yes. everytime. hahahaha cause pocky loves it like anything. everytime he goes, he will order this and he will go back just for this. i can assure you-_- cause he dragged me there the 3rd time for this particular reason. i kinda like the sauce that comes seperately, it has this unique taste. while pocky rape the ribs clean to the bones, i love dipping the diced potatoes into the sauce.
i recalled someone saying that for such dish, should at least be served with broccolis, cauliflowers, carrots etc. at the side. i don't know bout others, but for me as a girl, i can barely finish whatever is on the plate. laughs* if there were veggies served, it would be much healthier (actually with such amount of pork, damn a lot of veggies needed to balance it lar) but i don't think i can fit it all in. or it's more like...guys usually don't really eat the veggies anyway, it's the girls that will clean it off the plate HAHAHA
Reverse Pork Burger
when my brother saw this on the menu, his eyes practically went WIDE OPEN. like omg, isn't that PORK GALORE? the meat patty was juicy, not to mention everyone's fav bacon strip (everyone seems to fight over it everytime there's a burger-_- watheforkandspoon) the only setback for my brother was that he can't acually pick the burger up to eat but it was worth wiping the plate clean anyway.
Hawaiian Pork Burger
it's almost the same as the above just that it's bread as the 'cover' this time not the meat (and everyone says, "drats") with pineapple. yea, i can't believe we ordered this just cause pocky loves pineapple. laughs*
some spaghetti with beef (i think it's beef)
buaya joey ordered this and i can't seem to remember anything bout it. but it can't be all that bad. if it's bad, i would remember cause buaya joey will be complaining bout it but no memories, so no bads :D
Lobster Spaghetti
i love this pasta :D there's just something bout the sauce. hahaha i don't know why. i ate a whole lot. for a person that doesn't really fancy pasta, i was a bit shocked myself. the lobster meat was a bit hard but other then that, generous portion of 3...though my mom insisted it's called something else, not lobster laughs*
i can't seem to remember the name for this. but if memories serve me right, the filling of the mini cream puff look alike at the bottom was orange served with Haagen Dazs ice-cream. a lil dry for me or there wasn't enough filling to compliment the pastry outside. but then again, my tongue is always prefers a lil heavy on desserts. eat it with the ice-cream and it wouldn't feel that bad.
one bonus bout RIBS is that the ice-cream are all Haagen Dazs plus instead of the usual rm10 at Haagen outlets (though now i know Haagen is running a promotion of cheaper price for some flavours) its rm7.90 at RIBS. kuakuakua. :D happy. having ice-cream makes me happy. having desserts make me extra happy.
ice-cream with banana fritters...in other words...something like banana splitlarh. i never really liked bananas (i'm picky, i only like certain place and certain home grown bananas) i always liked the ice-cream that comes with the bananas. im fortunate to always have friends who will actually sapu the bananas while i sapu the ice-cream *laughs*
if i wasn't wrong, buaya joey tried carbonara the first time we were there. can't recall what was his review on it. but if there's a person who eats carbonara like people breathes oxygen it would be him and so far the top of his list is still Pizza Uno's Carbonara.
i on the other hand ate some Apple Crumble Pie ( i think it's a pie..or a slice of it) with Vanilla Ice-Cream. THIS WAS DAMN GOOD. at that time i thought it was too sweet, but after 3 desserts. this one ROCKS :D *laughs* or maybe cause i just love apple pies. but seriously, i would be lying if i say i did not like it cause i licked the plate clean okay.
every time i leave this restaurant, i come out with this satisfying smile and hands rubbing my stomach. freaking full for me-_- ordered Pork Loin as well the last Friday i was there. they forgot bout it but it's alright. i have a feeling we will be back anyway *Stares at mom and bro* besides we were all so full, if that pork came, haha it would take a miracle to finish it. then again, i wouldn't be surprised if we did. aren't malaysians like this?
"full arh" but still eat :D hahahha one thing i really like bout RIBS is the people working there. the waitresses are always so friendly and nice-_- it's crazy. haha esp this petite long hair woman, beh tahan. everytime i'm there, it's her serving me. the chef( i think he is the chef) was a friendly guy asking hows food and i tell you, the owner just loves to talk LAUGHS* clicks with every table.
the map for dear Kelvin cause i suck in explaining roads despite knowing how to go.

The management also runs a Ambrozia Cafe upstairs. Very nice environment equipped with pool table, sofas and what nots if memory serves me right. I guess the place can be rented and they cater to private functions, meetings, parties etc.
Also look fwd to their weekend breakfast menu (730am-11am) with sets at rm5 served wuth free refill of brewed coffee/tea. Pancakes with butter and maple syrup. yums*
