marathon food post v2

Garden Lifestyle Store at One Utama (1U). Ground Floor. hard to miss.

i tell you i think everyone must have "ooh-ed" and "aah-ed" at the extensive deco of this place when they come up from 1U's B1 escalator, next to Hang Ten (if i'm not mistaken) you won't even know it's a restaurant until you actually see someone handing out fliers and all. decorated with flowers, flowers and MORE Flowers. girls might actually go crazy at the sight of it. too bad all fakes, cause if it were all real. any girl would go crazy plus the smell of fresh flowers are actually veryvery nice.

sad to say i bet half the people who entered this restaurant must have said, "feels like FULL HOUSE at NXZ" hahaha if same company design nvmlarh, if it's not...-_-'' you can even buy most of the deco items too, but not at a very reasonable price if i must say so myself. the bonus of the whole place is definitely the white piano that greets you once you enter the Gardens. (ergh somehow it feels salah having the Gardens at MV as well)

came to the place 2nd time around cause my mom loves it there or maybe she cheekily wanted to just go back to the place just to see the head waiter. the 1st time we were there, the head waiter actually forgot to place our order through the system so we kinda waited darn long for our food till my mom complained and all. when i filled in the feedback form, the guy was actually walking in circles around me trying to peek and see if i had complained bout him!

he even snatched the form from another waitress that i handed to. to me it was a funny sight. i just wrote "more desserts please."

this time when i came , i saw this :D

Tea Time Buffet (3-6pm)
rm19.90 for 1 pax. rm33.90 for 2 pax.
more then 100 variety to choose from. and then this freaking long list of available flavours and whatnots.

seriously when i 1st saw it, my eyes practically popped. i wanted to eat everything that was there. almost every piece was practically screaming their own sweet stories to me. argh* SIBEH TEMPTED. wathefrappucino. but i din't. decided to hold it back and come back on a weekday...prolly alone just to savour each and every piece. and prolly DIE taking photos of each and every piece. and DIE FASTER if i have to write a review of each and every piece.

Laughs*

but i don't mind if i have to :D i just wanna eat first.

thank God for set meals or whoever the genius is to come up with set meals.

all set meals comes with Soup of the Day and choose between the drinks of ice lemon tea, coffee or tea.

twice i went. twice i had this something veggie soup. which i did not really liked, taste really spinach-y when it was cold and tasted oddfully sweet when hot. Bleah. although my friend was having fun, "ehh see whether can draw heart shape." upon trying and stirring, "bLeah let's just drink" hahahaha

Garden Black Pepper Chicken Chop - rm17.90
i personally like black pepper (which reminds me during sec school i had a black pepper steak war with this guy at THE SHIP haha but that's another story for another day) but it was not bad :D i don't think you can actually go wrong with black pepper and grilled chicken chop. so all's good. practically licked the sauce clean :D ops*

Nasi Lemak Chicken
erm..like any other nasi lemak? :D the sambal was..nothing. no hot. no spice. nada. either it is bland or my tongue is strong when it comes to nasi lemak sambal :D chicken was not bad though. crunchy! okay, so someone will sure say "bulat, the rice will tell how good the nasi lemak actually is. that's the main ingredient" okay bulat the great here doesn't really like rice. esp. virgin rice (means white rice) i like unvirgin-ed rice (means fried / sauced) so..after adding the sambal. i can no longer taste the rice and that's why i am the world's worst nasi lemak reviewer.

Spaghetti Aglio Ed Olio With Shrimp- rm17.90
i liked this :D not badlarh. not too strong. not too bland. though i felt a lil thirsty after eating this...-_- sigh* we all know what that means. the best bit was the prawns. fresh and juicyly bigger then what i expected.

this was not in the set.....Mee siam i think. mom was complaining there was too much angmo food on the set lunch so she decided to throw in ala cina food. for a place that feels western and serves ( i think concentrates) on western. surprisingly this was not bad at all :D

another set that i think would be worth taking is the Sandwhich set. looks surprisingly huge! i hope my eyes did not fail on me. there was this 5-6 year old kid who ordered that and i tell you, it's very funny to see her having trouble putting the sandwhich into her mouth cause it can't fit. later to see her peel one by one. bread. filling. to only eat half and tell her grandma that she can no longer eat leaving the grandma with the "omg then how to finish??!" look hahah and picking the fries one by one.

SO CUTE

the trend is to have small tables, huge plates and fairly okay ..or maybe small to guys portion. laughs* i guess if i were to come here with the bodos i would have to split my portion with the two bodo guys.

YES. dessert
Apple Sorbet rm9.90
Oh.my.god. the sorbet is expensive (to me) but gooood (to me) hahahaha :D
served chilled with the ice-cream in the center of the fruit. it was a bit too sweet to friend no.1 but sour to friend no.2-_- i just ate it cause i liked it :D and i was tempted to eat the apple after finishing the ice-cream. argh* i should have! wathesoups.

mango orange sorbet rm9.90
this was equally good as well. mango with a hint of orange-ness served in orange skin. omg. i like :D hahahhahahah it's crazy i tell you. ice-cream really makes people happy. if pricey at least try one and share with the others. there are many flavours, wished i have the budget to try all :(

Oh. this time around though, food came amazingly fast laughs* although the people working (waiters) were a bit...off-key and blur but food came fast so....yea forgiven and thnk God for this waitress. if it wasn't cause of her, i think many waiters would have given wrong orders to wrong tables everywhere !

on quieter days would be nice for dating, bigger groups on weekends to just hang out :D all in all it's not bad. worth a 1st time visit at the very least.
